THE ROLE – Commercial Director

Hegen offers an accomplished and strategic-minded Commercial Director with a growth mindset the opportunity to spearhead the Commercial Department, overseeing both the Singapore and international markets. Your position as our Commercial Director will directly align with our mission to serving mothers worldwide, easing their transition into parenthood and reinforcing Hegen’s commitment to being their trusted partner.

Drawing on your wealth of experience, you will strategically develop Hegen’s commercial direction to manage and orchestrate the expansion of Hegen’s local and international businesses. You will also play a key role in optimising total revenue, amplifying profit performance, enhancing market share, and fortifying brand recognition. Through your strategic vision, you will strengthen Hegen’s brand equity into every facet, fostering internal and external alignment, and contributing to a legacy of robust accomplishment for the Commercial Department.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to uncover valuable insights and formulate strategic approaches for devising and executing commercial strategies that drive the attainment of business objectives.
  • Translate high-level strategic insights into actionable tactics for driving business expansion in local and international markets.
  • Define and implement go-to-market strategy that guide the business on strategies to engage customers and gain a competitive advantage.

 

Financial Acumen

  • Monitor the financial performance of the different business pillars within the local and international partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with the Management and Finance team to develop forecasting and cost control strategies.

Market Analysis and Growth

  • Study the country, market, and industry trends to share market intelligence and shape insights for the team and organisation.
  • Regularly review the local, international and partnerships strategies to ensure consistent or exponential growth in different business pillars in the Commercial Department and maintain the organisation’s competitive advantage amidst evolving market dynamics.
  • Proactively contribute to organisational growth by enhancing market performance, creating compelling business proposals, leading negotiations, and exploring innovative solutions to achieve optimised commercial outcomes.

Business Partnership Development

  • Align company capabilities seamlessly with the unique needs of business partners, identifying area for maximising commercial opportunities.
  • Analyse the demand and supply dynamics of commercial performance, implement effective strategies to cope with different demand periods, review and approve pertinent promotional strategies.
  • Oversee partnerships and projects by assessing the return on investment (ROI), timescales, costs, and resources to ensure significant contribution to the commercial value.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain robust relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including management, distributors, retailers, and department leads, to foster a collaborative working environment.
  • Manage the performance of the Commercial team through effective leadership, coaching, and inspiring the team to achieve their KPIs and progress in their careers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field. An MBA will be advantages.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the Retail and Consumer Goods industry or have a proven track record in a revenue-generating or commercial services role.
  • At least 5 years of experience in leadership positions
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing both local and international markets.
  • Overseas working experience would be a plus.
  • Experience in multiple disciplines with knowledge of Sales & Marketing, E-Commerce, and Finance
  • Strong communicator with charisma and influential ability to inspire a vision to team members.
  • Highly collaborative and committed to the brand mission & values of serving the community and embracing a strong service-oriented mindset.
  • Analytical and creative thinker, ability to demonstrate business acumen in a logical and process-oriented manner, and creatively innovate on processes and create new possibilities.
  • A proven track record of propelling revenue growth and expanding market presence internationally.
